Skylark Distillery is an independent small craft distillery in South Cornwall founded by Alex Palmer-Samborne. He researched different distilling techniques, experimented with locally foraged botanicals, and fine tuned the Lantic Gin recipe over many months. The name born from the picturesque Lantic Bay which is steeped in spirit smuggling history and where a number of the gin’s botanicals are foraged.

 

 

Sustainability

Only 170 bottles are produced per batch, ensuring the survival of the foraged elements, including rock samphire, gorse flowers, water mint, heather, lemon thyme and apple mint. The botanicals give the gin a lovely floral note, rumour has it the flavours are meant to express the wild Cornish Coast.

 

This artisan gin won the coveted IWSC 2019 Silver award, the judges concluding that it has ”a good, balanced flavour profile with all of the classic botanicals being discernible: juniper, coriander, and angelica.  Great characteristics that gradually open up on the palate.”
